Meet Kaitlin.

Kaitlin considers Beijing, China to be one of her hometowns.

But she does not like Chinese (or, really, any other Asian) food.  Take that for irony, Alanis.  Other answers to the question, “Where are you from?” include the Detroit suburbs, the D, and Chicago.

Kaitlin attended DePaul University.

Kaitlin thought about a lot of majors: philosophy, political science, women’s studies, communication (“Why don’t you study something real?” her dad liked to ask”) but kept returning to the English courses listed as electives.  If English courses were the ones to draw her attention, then an English major she thought she should be.  (“Well, I guess you can always get your MBA later,” Dad said.)

And then grad school.

Kaitlin continued her liberal arts degree-addiction when she earned her M.A. in Writing and Publishing in 2011 from DePaul University. (Again.)

Kaitlin secretly dreams of being a combination of Tina Fey, Mindy Kaling, Amy Poehler, Jane Curtain, Nora Dunn, and Gilda Radner.

Kaitlin enjoys blogging (because it’s what her generation does), writing the book she’ll probably never finish (because it’s what language lovers do), and studying improv.

Kaitlin loves to give advice.

Because those who can’t do, teach. Email gingeradvice [at] gmail [dot] com or visit the Let’s Chat feature of her Tumblr site or you can go to her Formspring profile. She means business, people.

Kaitlin does not normally speak in the third person.

You know, in case you thought I had a Mike Tyson thing going on.
